Join us for our 8th Lavender Festival
July 6th and 7th
and
July 13th and 14th, 2019
from 10:00am to 5:00pm

 

Admission: $10.00 per person-children under 12 are free
Please plan to bring cash for the admission, food vendors and activities

Come celebrate with us and enjoy a weekend of fragrance, taste and entertainment! We want to share the beauty of our purple fields, the exquisite aroma of the essence of our flowers and the flavour of our culinary treats.

Activities:

(Please note that these activities are on-going throughout the weekend except for the bands/musicians which are scheduled at specific times)

Our Program 2019

    • Watch a demonstration of how Lavender Essential Oil is distilled and get your questions answered about this process.
    • Meet Daniel the Balloon Genie. Daniel can create anything by twisting balloons. He creates animals, flowers, hats, and anything else you can imagine.
    • The artist Lawrence Addison, Canadian realist painter from Ontario will be with us capturing moments of the weekend on canvas. His works convey everyday life, candid moments, landscapes and still life. (You will be able to purchase his art onsite. Please bring cash money )
    • Find a Fossil, an activity of interest to all ages. Remnants of the Ordovician geologic period, approximately 450 million years ago, can be found in Prince Edward County. This period was host to many brachiopods, corals and cephalopods. Join in to learn more.
    • Massage in the field with Karen and Becky on Mobile Chair (fees apply).
    • Tour our fields at your leisure and enjoy the various shades of lavender, from pink to purple - remember to bring your camera to create lasting memories of your time.
    • Meet for the first time Kristie’s Little Portable Petting Zoo. Kristie brings to us all miniature breeds…and there are lots: different breeds of chicken like silkies, bantams, frizzles, other birds like quails, geese, and other animals including rabbits, ferrets, goats, sheep, miniature horse…and more A fun time with these lovable little friends.
    • Sign up for U-Pick Lavender and bring home a gorgeous bouquet (fees apply on the size of the bunch).
    • Visit the Horticulture Booth to purchase your lavender plant and other of our fine products.
    • Your kids will have an amazing time with  the Inflatable Castle Maze fully supervised for the little ones
    • Professional face painter to add colours and wonders on your visage or your kid.
    • A Lavender Fairy! New this year, you will have a chance to be greeted and welcomed by our Lavender Fairy. Take your picture with her and bring home memorable moments of that day with you to share with your family and friends.

A few notes for our visitors:
- There are beehives on the farm - we ask that you respect the bees as they do their work.
- Dogs are NOT allowed during the festival, even on a leash or your purse, because we have a petting zoo on-site.
- We have food vendors on site and therefore there will be no outside food allowed
- Cash is mandatory for the admission, food vendors and some of the activities on site

The boutique will be open during the festival.

Music at the Festival

Saturday, July 6th:

10:30am to 1:15pm  - The Fade Kings – They have been providing Great Live Music throughout the greater Quinte area and beyond for the last 27 years – performing an eclectic mix of well-crafted  Blues, Smooth Jazz and Rhythm & Blues Classics. We will certainly enjoy them. A first time with us this year.

1:30pm to 4:30pm – The Starpainters Trio – They bring us a unique live music alternative featuring swing and jazz classics from the Roaring Twenties, the big band era, beautiful bossas, ballads, Beatles and Bacharach. The best songs of all time - Sinatra, Gershwin, Satchmo, Ellington, Berlin, Jobim, and much more. The Starpainters are proven audience favourites at any events they perform.

Sunday, July 7th:

10:30am to 1:15pm – Aaron Nash - Aaron Nash is a jazz guitarist and music educator, now based in beautiful Prince Edward County. Aaron plays a mix of choice jazz standards, Latin showpieces, and world fusion compositions. You will enjoy his elegant style in his collection of music.

1:30pm to 4:30pm - Roger Scannura Flamenco Guitarist/Composer - Roger Scannura is an internationally recognized flamenco guitarist and a leading exponent of Nuevo Flamenco. He has been immersed in music since early childhood and mastered the techniques and nuances of Flamenco guitar while in Spain for 12 years under the auspices of Pepe Habichuela and other gypsy masters. He is also a founder of the acclaimed Toronto based dance company Ritmo Flamenco. Scannura with his group has performed for Prime ministers, Dignitaries as well as an assortment of celebrities including, Russell Crowe and Sting. Scannura has recorded eight cd's of original flamenco music encompassing both traditional and modern styles.

Saturday, July 13th

10:30am to 1:15pm - Robert Keyes - We welcome Robert Keyes again at our festival. A jazz guitarist, he has played with luminaries such as Lyle Lovett and Sir John McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame! Robert incorporates a myriad of styles ranging from classical to jazz to contemporary to country and beyond, and blends them into an enjoyable musical potpourri.

1:30pm to 4:30pm - R & R - Ralph and Ray – A Brighton based, high energy duo reminiscent of the style of the Everly Brothers Two Guitars, Two Voices.

Sunday, July 14th:
